Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The ribbon cutting ceremony, Sat. May 7, 2011 celebrating the nomination of
the Copper River Highway as an Alaskan Scenic Byway. The Native Village of Eyak is shepparding this initiative.
Mark King, tribal council chair,(brown shirt) and Jason Borer, Eyak Corp.(blue stripped shirt) are assisting Cordova's Mayor Kallander
with cutting the ribbon.About 65 people showed up for the celebration at the 10 mile kiosk, 35 of them by bicycle!
NVE will be submitting a grant proposal to the National program to develop the Copper River Highway Scenic Byway Corridor Partnership Plan.
