traditional Native Crafts, Clothing and Foods
Pie sale, craft fair and food extravaganza on December 23, 2008 nets support for next years Sobriety Celebration. Over 40 delicious apple and pumpkin pies and an assortment of other goodies were sold to an eager crowd of supporters.
There were 6 vendor tables selling Sushi, Indian Tacos, Pickled Salmon and Native Crafts. Lots of kids and grown-ups stopped by and had a great time.
Santa Clause made an appearance. Bruce Cain, executive director of the Native Village of Eyak was at the front of the line of kids. He asked Santa if he would bring a Remington model 700 338 Winchester Magnum to his wife for Christmas. Santa laughed and said “Ho Ho Ho. Yes. I have known Bruce since he was a little boy. Now there’s someone who has been naughty a time or two.” “I already heard what your wife wants for Christmas.” Stated Santa. “And as for you Bruce. I know you’re tricks. 338 Win Mag indeed. You’ll be lucky if you get coal.”
