Holidays
           NVE observes 12 holidays annually

Leave
            A full-time employee earns Personal Leave at the rate of 5.34 hours per pay period, (bi-weekly payperiod) i.e., at total of 17.33 days per; year, for the first, second, and third years of employment. Personal leave is also referred to as accrued annual leave, and encompasses both vacation and sick leave.

Health Insurance
            NVE provides Premera BlueCross/BlueShield coverage under the Alaska Federation of Natives plan.  NVE pays 100% of employees’ health insurance, 80% of employee dependents. There is a 90 day waiting period before eligibility for the plan commences. NVE offers free office visits to Ilanka clinic to its employees. NVE also has
An deductible reimbursement plan.

Life Insurance
            NVE provides employees life insurance of 2 and ½ times annual salary. NVE pays 100% of premiums. This policy includes short term disability. NVE offers long term disability under a different policy.

Retirement
               After the first year of employment, employees become eligible for retirement.  NVE provides an 8% salary profit share into Guardian Pension Plan.  In addition, employees may choose to contribute up to 15% of their salary into this plan. Employees are fully vested after six years of employment.
